Although Ehime University is located in an outlying region, it contains the Center for Marine Environmental Studies, the Geodynamic Research Center, and the Cell-Free Science and Technology Research Center, all of which are conducting advanced, world-class research.

In addition, a number of other centers, such as the Integrated Center for Sciences, the Resource Center of Ancient East Asian Iron Culture, and the Research Center for Space and Cosmic Evolution, have been established. The researchers are conducting a high level of research and are expected to play a leading role in Ehime University.

Training Young Researchers Who Will Lead the Next Generation through Leading-edge Research

Ehime University hopes to train world-class researchers not only from among its young researchers and graduate students but also from among undergraduate students. One example of this effort are the Super Science Special Courses. A fixed number of students, rather than belonging to a regular faculty, are affiliated with the Faculties of Agriculture and Science and are trained in the Center for Marine Environmental Studies, the Geodynamic Research Center, and the Cell-Free Science and Technology Research Center.

Research Coordinator System

Ehime University wishes to make the activities of its researchers, which are its intellectual assets, more available to regional industry and society. The Research Coordinator System has been created to serve as a bridge for this purpose. In addition, Research Coordinators provide advice on methods for applying for outside funding and on the search for possible research partners.
