Diploma Policy

Students will:

  • Have acquired accurate knowledge related to education and specialized knowledge in a particular field.
  • Be able to discuss various educational topics and to think of appropriate responses.
  • Be able to reflect on actual practice, to define one's own study topics, and to combine theory and practice in independent study.
  • Acquire a sense of vocation and responsibility as a professional specialist and the ability to form relationships with people of all ages and be able to act appropriately as a member of society.
  • Acquire a high level of skill and a rich expressive capability in order to deal with educational activities.

School Teacher Training Course

Education is both theoretical and practical responses in support of the development of children's minds and bodies. It considers various problems that children encounter, including correct understanding and methods for handling of bullying and school non-attendance. The aim is to train teachers equipped with a broad education and practical leadership ability. Within the School Teacher Training Course are two programs, the Basic School Education Course and the Practical School Education Course.

Special Education Teacher Training Course

The aim of this course is to train teachers who can put into practice education that allows children with special needs to shine, education that attends in detail to the individual needs of children, education that takes into view the entire life spans of children with disabilities. Along with specialized lectures and practice, students can also learn through direct contact with children.

The Special Education Teacher Training Course consists of two programs: the Hearing and/or Speech Impairment Course and the Developmental Impairment Course.

Integrated Human Development Course

There are a number of keywords in contemporary society, such as “international,” “living environment,” “information,” “regional society,” “welfare,” and “peace.” The Integrated Human Development Course presents a new style that maintains international consciousness while living in regional society, addresses life, the environment, and the information society, and includes lifelong learning and welfare in its range of vision.

The Integrated Human Development Course consists of four courses: the International Understanding Education Course, the Life and Environment Course, the Information Education Course and the Human Society Design Course.

Sport and Health Science Course

Within a practical-style curriculum that includes practical training in Ehime University's Integrated Regional Sports Club, the first among National University Corporations in Japan, students in this course can acquire a teacher's license and/or qualification to take the Health and Exercise Instructor examination, and can acquire knowledge, practical skill, and leadership ability in sports and health. In the 2nd year, students choose either the Sport Leader Training Course or the Sport Career Development Course, in line with their career aspirations. The Sport and Health Science Course looks for students who wish to promote rich and fulfilling lives for people, from children to the elderly, through sports and exercise and who have a desire to contribute to society and culture.

Fine Arts Course

As contemporary society moves toward maturity, there is an ever stronger desire for enriching culture and the life of the mind. The Fine Arts Course aims to develop professionals who can contribute widely to society, who, along with assuming the enrichment of mind and culture, will provide support as specialists of cultural activities through the arts and will have the ability to facilitate communication among people.

The Fine Arts Course consists of two programs, the Music Course and the Sculpture, Ceramics, and Painting Course.
