A2: No. But, if you would like to take courses which are taught in Japanese, we recommend you to have at least higher than a N2 level on the JLPT.

A4: The 1st term starts in April and classes go to the end of July. The 2nd term starts in late September and classes go until mid-February.

Necessary Documents (Not returnable):
1. Certificate of preliminary selection issued by the relevant Japanese diplomatic
mission.
2. A set of the same documents as those submitted to the Japanese Embassy/Consulate
General (such as Application, certified academic records of the university attended,
study program)
3. Official Form of “Letter of Acceptance”
4. Any additional documents required by the prospective advisor or administrative Office.
A6: That depends on your university. Consult with your home institution’s student exchange coordinator or academic advisor.
A7: Yes, some of our graduate programs in the fields of Agriculture, Science and Engineering are taught in English. Almost all instruction at the undergraduate level is in Japanese with only four or five classes taught in English.
A8: Only students who are enrolled in a university which has an agreement of student exchange with Ehime University can come as exchange students. Please check at your international affairs office. A11: Yes, but transfer is very difficult. Please contact us by e-mail with your academic record, your current status and information about what you want to do at Ehime University.
A12: We have a 4-month course intensive course for beginners, but it is not enough to prepare you for Japanese used in the university classroom.
A13: There are many kinds of scholarships.

A14: Yes. Foreign students are eligible to apply for a waiver of half or all of the tuition fees if their grades are high.
A15: There are many volunteer groups which help foreign students. One collects used household goods which are available to international students for free. Other groups provide opportunities to join many kinds of activities where you can make friends and experience Japanese culture.

A17: You will be here on a student visa and you are not allowed to work. But it is possible to get special permission from the immigration office to work as much as 28 hours a week.

A19: Yes. We try hard to place our graduates in local and national companies.
A20: There is AISA which is the international student association of Ehime University. They hold social events throughout the year. ICO is a student volunteer group which plans events for international exchange. There are also many clubs You can make many friends and help each other.
A21: Don’t worry; All newly arrived international students are assigned a tutor for their first year who will help with academic and everyday things. If you need an airport pick up that can be arranged.

A24: It is a temperate climate. The rainy season is from June to July. Winter is usually dry with lows of 2~3ºC and highs around 10ºC. Summer temperatures range from 24º~34ºC.
