Purpose

Through high level academic research and the cultivation of leaders for the next generation, Ehime University is contributing to the further development of the culture, welfare, and industry of society. As it is an academic center within the region, one of its fundamental goals is to learn from the region and return the results to the region.

In order to contribute to society through systematic support of the creation, as intellectual property, of academic results of university research in various fields and through its acquisition, administration, and use, the Intellectual Property Office was established on April 1, 2004, with the university trustee in charge of social collaboration as director.

Outline of the Facility

The Intellectual Property Office carries out its activities according to the following basic policy regarding intellectual property.

1. Along with supporting the intellectual creativity of university faculty members, etc., the office will strive to maintain the educational and research environment.
2. The office will secure appropriate financial remuneration for inventors and encourage the creation and use of intellectual property.
3. The office will put intellectual property into wide use in society for the public good.
