Facilities and SupportCenter for General Education (CGE)


Purpose

The Center for General Education is responsible for the planning and administration of General Education for the entire university. The aim of General Education is to instill within students the basic knowledge necessary to become independent citizens. To achieve this aim, the center is involved in the development of a systematic curriculum and works toward the presentation of classes that can make a true contribution to the students' growth.

Outline of the Facility

To realize the purpose of General Education, the Center for General Education has the following three main responsibilities.

  1. To make the plan of classes for each year based on participation of all faculty members.
  2. To undertake the smooth administration of General Education classes.
  3. To conduct requests for evaluation and revision of syllabuses, administer the student class evaluation questionnaires, make suggestions for class improvement, and hold discussion meetings for instructors of Original Classes, all for the purpose of improving General Education.

Brief Introduction

While actively working to build links between General Education and specialized education, the center manages General Education in line with its philosophy of “developing students who can learn independently.”
