| On May 15th and 16th, 2003, we have conducted "the International Symposium on Commemorating the opening of the Cell-Free Science and Technology Research Center at Ehime University". We invited 11 internationally reputed scientists in cell free sciences and related areas; Each from Russia and Germany and three are from the U.S.A and remaining six are from Japan. There were about 200 participants from various scientific organizations, companies and venture-capital organizations including students and researchers at our university. During the sessions, much of the discussions revolved around the past, present and future prospectus of cell free science and technologies. Thanks to all participants' cooperation, It was learnt from the invited speakers and participants that symposium was successful. From now on, we will make our efforts to advance our technology based on "Cell-free protein synthesis system" established by Prof. Yaeta Endo (Director of CSTRC). Hopefully, we wish to expand this innovative technology with the view to contribute as a basic platform for various advanced biological research areas like modern medicine and biotechnology in various organizations and bio-industries all over the world. |
