The United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Ehime University (UGAS-EU) offers three majors: Bioresource Production Science, Applied Bioresource Science, and Life Environment Conservation Science. These majors provide education for researchers to attain advanced knowledge and skills that will enable them to play an important role both locally and globally. As well as providing a high level of field-specific knowledge and skills, the program supervisors train students to be top-level researchers with a broad knowledge of agricultural sciences. After completing the doctoral program, graduates will be able to independently continue their research activities.(Instruction) In addition to undertaking dissertation research under the guidance of their supervisor and co-supervisors, students participate in the following to help them gain advanced knowledge and skills, enabling them to play an active role in the local and international communities: Japanese students and international students work together in the Joint Seminar, a two-night, three-day residential seminar (presentation, communication, group work in English); seminars for each major conducted in English by qualified faculty members from the three constituent universities (Ehime, Kagawa, Kochi) using the video-conferencing system; Comprehensive Agricultural Science conducted separately in Japanese and English with the six united graduate schools of agriculture nationwide using the video-conferencing system; and English for Scientific Writing and Presentations given by an instructor whose native language is English.
