The 2026 Joint Seminar of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences was held on September 2 and 3 at Welpia Iyo and Ehime University Tarumi Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Joint Seminar is a compulsory intensive course conducted entirely in English. A total of 27 students from Ehime University, Kagawa University, and Kochi University participated and were assigned to six groups. Participants learned about research ethics and scientific writing, and engaged in group work and discussions with fellow students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the first day, students attended lectures and took part in recreational activities designed to encourage interaction among participants. As part of the group work, each group explored and discussed a topic related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and prepared an English presentation based on its findings. The activities helped students from different universities and research fields to get to know one another and build new connections in a relaxed atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the second day, each group presented the results of its discussions, followed by comments and feedback from faculty members. The Best Group Award was presented to the group that demonstrated outstanding teamwork and presentation skills. This year, the award went to the group whose presentation focused on Japanese food culture and compared it with food cultures in the participants\u2019 home countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A social gathering after the seminar gave students an opportunity to exchange ideas about their research and student life while further strengthening their connections. Overall, the two-day seminar combined academic learning with interaction among students from the three universities, helping to foster networks for future research collaboration. The United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences will continue to promote collaborative learning and interaction among students, supporting their academic and personal development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
