{"id":218480,"date":"2022-02-15T17:54:12","date_gmt":"2022-02-15T08:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ehime-u.ac.jp\/social_collaboration\/what-are-coc-and-coc-projects\/"},"modified":"2022-04-13T19:57:42","modified_gmt":"2022-04-13T10:57:42","slug":"what-are-coc-and-coc-projects","status":"publish","type":"social_collaboration","link":"https:\/\/www.ehime-u.ac.jp\/en\/social_collaboration\/what-are-coc-and-coc-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"What are COC and COC+ projects?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u3000Ehime University is actively involved in the &#8220;University COC (Center of Community) Project,&#8221; a policy of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, to &#8220;solve local issues by strengthening cooperation with the local community&#8221; and to &#8220;plan and implement regional development measures with a view to<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"lazyblock-ehi-or-scroll-to-1wTU5E wp-block-lazyblock-ehi-or-scroll-to\"><div class=\"scroll_to\" id=\"scroll-01\" data-name=\"Ehime Center of Knowledge (COC) Project\" data-color=\"#24c147\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ehime Center of Knowledge (COC) Project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Developing practical human resources to create the future of the region with stakeholders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-has-dots wp-block-list\"><li><strong>COC Continuation Project Details<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u3000The &#8220;Fostering Practical Human Resources to Create the Future of the Region with Stakeholders&#8221; project was adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in 2014 as a &#8220;Center of Knowledge (COC) Project&#8221; to foster human resources who can revitalize industries and create regional innovation in Ehime Prefecture, through region-oriented education, research and social contribution activities. The company has been working on the following Specifically, we offer &#8220;Ehime Studies&#8221; for all students of the university, open lectures in cities and towns in the prefecture, and recurrent education for working adults.<br\/>The COC project as a project of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) ended in FY 2018, but from FY 2019, Ehime University will continue the above efforts as its own initiatives, utilizing the achievements of the past five years.<br\/>As a result of our activities in local communities in Ehime Prefecture, Ehime University Community Collaboration Center Saijo was established in Saijo City in FY2016, and Ehime University Community Collaboration Center Nanyo was established in Saiyo City in October 2019. Ehime University also established the Ehime University Support Center for Regional Professional Human Resource Development and Recurrent Education with the aim of developing and promoting recurrent education for working adults in the region.<br\/>\u3000Through these activities, we are developing the aims and objectives of the COC project.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"lazyblock-ehi-or-scroll-to-23lige wp-block-lazyblock-ehi-or-scroll-to\"><div class=\"scroll_to\" id=\"scroll-02\" data-name=\"Project for Promotion of Regional Development by Core Universities of Knowledge (COC+)\" data-color=\"#24c147\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project for Promotion of Regional Development by Core Universities of Knowledge (COC+)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project to discover the charms of Ehime with &#8220;love&#8221; for the creation of the region&#8217;s future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-has-dots wp-block-list\"><li><strong>COC+ Continuing Project Details<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ehime University is responsible for the project, and Imabari Meitoku Junior College, St. Catherine University, St. Catherine University Junior College, Matsuyama Shinonome Women&#8217;s University, and Matsuyama Shinonome Junior College have applied to participate in the &#8220;Project to Discover the Attractiveness of Ehime with &#8216;Love&#8217; for the Future Creation of the Region&#8221;. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has selected the project for fiscal year 2015 as a &#8220;Center of Knowledge (COC+) for the Promotion of Regional Development by Core Universities in Japan (COC+)&#8221;.<br\/>\u3000Under this program, we have been working to improve the rate of employment in Ehime Prefecture by promoting programs to promote employment and settlement in Ehime, enhancing career development support, and focusing on strengthening regional satellite programs.
