The Closing Ceremony of the Intensive Japanese language Course 2017 took place on February 28.

The closing ceremony of the intensive Japanese language course 2017 was held on February 28, 2018, where completion certificates were given to three international students who enrolled in October. This course aims to provide an intensive Japanese language education for international students funded by the Japanese Government Scholarship program before starting their master’s or doctor’s programs at Ehime University.

After each student received a completion certificate from Prof. Chin Jie, Director of Center for International Education, they made a presentation “in Japanese” on various topics such as their home country and previous jobs, with a strained look on their face yet in a calm tone, presenting what they have acquired through the half-year course.
The ceremony was attended by not only their supervisors and Japanese teachers from Center for International Education but also their tutors and J-support volunteers. Moreover, a host family came to celebrate all the way from Yahatahama, where the students had a homestay experience as part of the program in December. They all seemed to enjoy a happy reunion.

Each student will start a graduate program in their respective fields and we hope their Japanese proficiency will help a lot there.

※The three international students who completed the course are as follows.

Faculty of Education: Mr. Ferdinand Pol Laurel Martin (Philippines)

Faculty of Science: Mr. Khalema Hareteke Ishimael (Kingdom of Lesotho)
