*Undergraduate students (excluding international students) who wish to receive tuition waiver must apply for the Ehime University scholarship. Tuition Waiver for Academic Year 2022
*Since the screening will be conducted based on current household and academic standards within the budget, there is no guarantee that the full amount will be waived.
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students will be transferred to the New System for Higher Education Study Support (JASSO scholarship + tuition reduction/exemption).
Tuition waivers under the new higher education study support system
If you apply for and are selected for the JASSO scholarship, your tuition will be reduced or exempted depending on the category you are selected for. You are required to submit an application for continuation of tuition fee reduction (Form A2) twice a year. If you do not submit the application for continuation of tuition fee reduction by the end of the application period, you will not receive the tuition fee reduction certification.

You will receive Form A1 with your scholarship application documents, which must be submitted within the scholarship application period.
Tuition Exemption by Ehime University
With the implementation of the new higher education study support system, transitional support will be provided to undergraduate students who were eligible for support under the previous tuition fee waiver system (students enrolled before the 2019 academic year), but who will no longer be eligible under the new system or for whom the amount of support will decrease. Undergraduate students who have applied for the new system and undergraduate students who are not eligible for the new system but have not applied for the new system and wish to apply for tuition fee waiver transitional assistance should refer to the application instructions below and make sure to apply for this transitional assistance. Applications submitted after the application period will not be accepted, so please submit your application within the application period.
*Since the screening criteria for the new system are different from those for the transitional measures, it does not necessarily mean that those who did not receive full support under the new system will be eligible for the transitional measures.
*If you apply only for the new system and do not apply for transitional measures this time, you will not be eligible for transitional measures support. If you are not eligible for support under the new system as a result of the screening process, you will not receive tuition waiver, so please make sure to apply for transitional measures if you wish to receive transitional measures support. If the application is not submitted by the deadline, it will be assumed that there is no request for transitional measures support.
*Tuition fee waiver for students enrolling in the 2020 academic year or later will be granted only under the New System for Supporting Higher Education and Student Affairs. If you wish to apply for tuition fee waiver, please apply for the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship. However, if you have any circumstances such as having suffered damage from windstorms or floods in 2020, or having experienced a sudden change in family finances due to the effects of the new coronavirus, please contact the “Contact for inquiries regarding entrance fee and tuition fee waiver” below.

The University has a system whereby students who have difficulty paying the entrance fee may be exempted from paying the entire or part of the fee upon application and selection by the applicant.

A person who falls under any of the following
(1)Applicants who have difficulty paying the admission fee due to financial reasons and meet the academic standards set by the university.
(2)Within one year prior to enrollment, the applicant’s primary financial supporter has died, or the applicant or his/her primary financial supporter has suffered a disaster such as windstorm or flood, and the applicant is unable to pay the enrollment fee and meets the academic standards set by the university.
