The Organization for the Promotion of International Collaboration was established in 2009 and consists of two centers and one office (Center for International Education Support, Center for Asian and African Exchange, and International Collaboration Planning Office). The core of this organization has played a central role in a variety of ambitious initiatives, including organized efforts to respond to the government’s plan to increase the number of international students to 300,000, the development of international partnerships focused on core countries, the establishment of a job placement support system for international students centered on the International Student Employment Promotion Program (MEXT), and collaboration with Asia utilizing Japanese language education programs.
