Teacher’s License Renewal Course
The latest information
Overview of License Renewal Training
With the revision of the Educational Personnel License Law in June 2007, the Teachers’ License Renewal System was introduced on April 1, 2009. The outline of the system is as follows.
- The purpose of the teacher license renewal system is to ensure that teachers have the most up-to-date knowledge and skills necessary to teach at any given time.
- Teacher’s licenses awarded on or after April 1, 2009 shall be valid for a period of 10 years.
- Must attend and complete a minimum of 30 hours of license renewal training over a two-year period.
- The basic framework of the teacher license renewal system should be applied to those who obtained their licenses before March 31, 2009.
In accordance with the introduction of the teacher license renewal system, Ehime University will offer a course for license renewal.
Ehime University regards the teacher license renewal course as an important scene of interaction with the local community and will respond to it on a university-wide basis. Basically, in close cooperation with the Ehime Prefectural Board of Education, we plan to offer courses required for teachers in Ehime Prefecture, regardless of the type of license.
In FY2021, all training sessions were scheduled to be conducted in a face-to-face format for the purpose of close collaboration with the local community, but in order to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infection, some sessions will now be conducted remotely (non-face-to-face).
The Ehime University License Renewal Course for Academic Year 2021 was accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on February 18, 2021.
