【Important】Selection Methods for Admission to the Newly Established Graduate School of Science and Engineering (Planned) for the 2023 Academic Year (6th Report)

Selection Method for the Doctoral Program Admission【General Selection (April Admission) / Integrated Special Selection (April Admission / September Admission) for International Students / Regular Employees / Self-Recommended Students】

(This is in the planning stage and the contents may be subject to change.)

 Ehime University is currently planning to establish the ‘new’ Graduate School of Science and Engineering to be opened in April 2023. The ‘new’ Graduate School of Science and Engineering will offer only one major of science and engineering with degree programs and curriculum, based on the philosophy of fostering ‘science and engineering professionals who can not only inherit and develop today’s science and technology, but also contribute to the creation and realization of new values for the future.’

 

 If the establishment of the ‘new’ Graduate School of Science and Engineering in April 2023 is approved, the General Selection (April Admission) and the Integrated Special Selection (April Admission / September Admission) for international students / regular employees / self-recommended students will be conducted for the Doctoral program section of the 2023 academic year. Selections of successful applicants are expected to be October 2022 or later. Application guidelines are scheduled to be released after August 2022, so please check the Ehime University Entrance Examination Information website (URL: https://juken.ehime-u.ac.jp/).
 The details of the selection method are described in the application guidelines, but an outline of the selection method and the evaluation contents is planned as follows.

【General Selection】,【Integrated Special Selection(April Admission / September Admission)for International Students / Regular Employees / Self-Recommended Students】

 The selection for admission will be made on the basis of integrated evaluation of submitted documents and performance in the interview (including an oral examination).

Interview:
The applicants’ research field subjects, master’s thesis and research plan, etc. will be evaluated comprehensively. (Applicants may be asked to give a presentation on their past research activities.) (Language: Japanese or English)

Documents to be submitted:
Academic performance, English proficiency, statement of purpose (personal statement, motivation for the application, research activities and results/achievements, etc.) will be comprehensively evaluated. (If applicants are regular employees, their work performance, achievements and skills will also be evaluated.)

 The original and a copy of either the official TOEIC L&R or TOEFL iBT score or a certificate of Technical English Proficiency Test taken within two years prior to the expected date of admission must be submitted for application as proof of English proficiency. However, if applicants are enrolled in the Master’s Program of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Ehime University, and will proceed to the Doctoral Program following completion of the Master’s Program, they do not need to submit the above-mentioned certificate. Applicants whose native language is English or who have received a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree from a program in which English is the language of instruction may submit documents to prove it instead of the above-mentioned certificate.
