Dr. Syamsu Qamar Badu, Rector of Gorontalo State University and Mr. Hamim Pou, Head of Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo, led a delegation of 35 members including university and junior high students and visited Ehime for the purpose of strengthening a relationship with Matsuyama City and Ehime University from April 7 to 12, 2018.
They participated in the Matsuyama Spring Festival, where some members joined the Feudal Load’s Procession with Samurai costumes and others gave a live performance on the stage. The junior high students from Bone Bolango Regency mesmerized the audience into their Indonesian traditional yet creative performance using classical musical instruments brought over from their home country.
Also, the delegation made a courtesy visit to President Yuichi Ohashi and attended a welcome dinner party hosted by the Ehime-Indonesia Friendship Association. During their stay in Matsuyama, they actively joined exchange programs with not only university students from the Faculty of Collaborative Regional Innovation but the junior high school of Ehime University Faculty of Education.
Ehime University will continue to promote the globalization of the region in cooperation with governmental organizations and companies in Ehime Prefecture.
