平成24年4月16日(月)13時から、愛媛大学農学部大会議室において、平成24年度愛媛大学大学院連合農学研究科入学式を挙行しました。
最初に、学長・役職員等の紹介があり、次に入学者全員の紹介が行われました。今年度の入学者は31人で、日本人が23人、外国人留学生が8人です。また、日本人のうち4人は社会人であり、留学生は、タイ2人、バングラデシュ、中国、インドネシア、ジンバブエ、ケニア、マラウイ各1人です。
続いて、柳澤康信愛媛大学長から次のような式辞がありました。
「It is a great pleasure to welcome you the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences on behalf of the rectors、 deans、 directors and academic advisers of Ehime、 Kagawa and Kochi Universities. I congratulate all of you on gaining admission to this Rendai doctoral course.
Of 31 new Rendai students、 eight are from foreign countries. The Rendai has many foreign students as a whole、 so Japanese students may have the opportunity to do research with one of them. In the present day of globalization、 there are many issues to be resolved、 such as global warming and the maintenance of biodiversity. Learning to work with others and building your own network here and abroad can be considered an important part of your course of study.
You will be doing research in fields such as agriculture、 fisheries and forestry、 which are vital to the sustainability of humankind. Your professors and fellow students will be a source of stimulation、 knowledge and technical skills. I hope you will make the most of this rich intellectual environment to sharpen your analytic ability、 to acquire the most advanced knowledge、 and broaden your world view.
Japan is facing serious challenges resulting from the earthquake and tsunami in March、 2011. The actions taken here in response to those challenges will be observed by and affect the rest of the world. Our job at Rendai is to make sure you have the knowledge、 expertise and skills you need to go out in the world. The solid training in research you receive here will enable you to contribute greatly toward providing solutions to these、 and the many other challenges we face in the world today.
I wish you success. Thank you.」
これに応えて、入学者代表として、生物資源利用学専攻の田村優佳さんから次のような宣誓あいさつがありました。
「春風に吹かれる桜の花の美しさが深く胸にしみる今日、私たちは希望の一歩を踏みだします。
本日は、私たち新入生のために入学式を挙行していただき、誠にありがとうございます。新入生を代表して心より御礼申し上げます。
昨年の東日本大震災後、私たちは日本の美しい風景、守るべき産業や技術、日本の文化や伝統の大切さに改めて気付きました。また、私たちは、世界市場との緊密な連携があってこその日本経済であることを改めて痛感しました。
さて、私たちが志す農学は、人類の豊かな生活を維持・向上させるとともにそれに欠くことのできない環境・生態系の保全と改善が期待される学問です。将来の研究者を目指して博士課程に入学する私たちは、この責任を自覚し、知識と技術を身につけ、創造性にあふれる研究、開発に励み、社会に貢献できるよう努力します。また、この場には、修士からの研究を継続する方、他分野から入学する方、社会を経験し研究の道に入ろうとする方、留学生の方と様々な人が集まっています。国籍や年齢にとらわれず、フラットなチームワーク、強いリーダーシップ、そしてすべての学生が自らの可能性にチャレンジできる、そんな学生生活を目指します。
最後に、在学中は学則およびその他諸規則を守ることを誓います。」
式典終了後に記念撮影、引続きオリエンテーションを行い、連合農学研究科の概要説明等がありました。
オリエンテーション終了後、31人の入学生は、それぞれの配属大学へと分かれていきました。
