A Visit by Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia【April 23~27, 2018】

 A delegation from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), our international partner in Indonesia, visited Ehime University from April 23(Mon.) to 27(Fri.), 2018. The delegation was composed of 9 representatives; Prof. Jumina (Vice Director of Project Implementation Unit), Dr. Francis MC Sigit Setyabudi (Project Implementation Unit), Prof. Agung Endro Nugroho (Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy), Dr. Purwatiningsih (Faculty of Pharmacy), Dr. Adi Djoko Guritno (Head of Department of Agro-Industry), Dr. Kuncoro Harto Widodo (Vice Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Technology), Dr. Murwantoko (Faculty of Fishery), Dr. Atus Syahbuddin (Faculty of Forestry) and Mr. Ahmad Baidlowi (Vocational College).

 UGM started a project of building industry-academia partnership facilities (“Development of World Class University with Socio Entrepreneurial Spirit”) on November 2017, supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The purpose of the UGM delegation was to visit the facilities of Ehime University and discuss the details of collaborations.

  On 23th (Mon.) Prof. Hiroshige Nishina, Vice President & Executive Director delivered a welcome speech and explained the Institute for Social Collaboration, where he holds director’s position. The delegation then moved to the headquarters office to meet President Yuichi Ohashi.

   On 24th(Tue.), the delegation visited Paper Industry Innovation Center in Shikokuchuo City. Prof. Hiromi Uchimura, Director of the center, explained the recent activities about the center to the delegation. They looked around the facilities of the center.

   On 25th(Wed.) and 26th(Thu.), the delegation was divided into two groups; one group visited Kumakogen campus and Ehime Prefectural Forestry Center in Kumakogen Town on 25th and School of Medicine, University Hospital and Faculty of Agriculture on 26th. At School of Medicine they had a chance to look around the skills laboratory in Regional Medical Center. At Faculty of Agriculture they discussed possibilities of research collaboration with academic staffs and then visited the Research Center for Intelligent Greenhouse Systems and Miura Memorial Hall. The other group visited local fishery companies and a fish market “Doya” in Yawatahama City on 25th and Southern Ehime Fishery Research Center in Ainan Town on 26th.

   On 27(Fri.), the delegation and Ehime University hold a concluding meeting to discuss the scope of our possible collaboration and its schedule.
