Students from Orenburg State University, Russia, visit Ehime University to interact with it students.

On November 18-26, four Orenburg State University (OSU) students and Prof. Irina Bolodurina, Head of Applied Mathematics department, Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technologies, participated in the Autumn School Program at the Faculty of Science, Ehime University, tackling two mathematical challenges “Math with Origami” and “Triangle-Triangle Intersection.”

Simultaneously, the delegation of OSU dance team, Zhemchuzhinka, visited Ehime to perform on the commemorative stage of 30 years of the Ehime Prefectural Culture Festival. The delegation included Ms. Frolova Tatiana, Director of the OSU Students Center, and Ms. Morozova Olga, a group art director, and its 20 students.

On November 23, Russian students took part in a student exchange program with Ehime University students in music major, organized by Associate Prof. Toshiaki Kusu, Faculty of Education, deepening friendship through singing and dancing together at the Nanka Memorial Hall. The next day, they appeared in a musical at the Ehime Prefectural Culture Festival, marking a grand opening with the Botchan Theater performers and students from Ehime University and its Junior High School.

During November 24-25, OSU and Ehime University jointly set up a booth with Russia-Japan friendship as theme at the Ehime-Matsuyama Industrial Festival, where they explained our exchange history while treating visitors to a cup of Russian tea and sweets. Their beautiful yet dynamic and powerful stage performance on the back of Matsuyama Castle was far beyond our expectations and mesmerized the audience.

We hope that this exchange program, conducted in the memorial year of “Japan Year in Russia” and “Russia Year in Japan,” served as a great opportunity to further promote our relationship between the two universities.
