On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Ehime University held an “Exchange Program between Alumni and Current Students” at its Johoku Campus. As part of the career education class “Career Vision Formation for International and Japanese Students Together,” four alumni who are active as foreign employees at companies in Ehime Prefecture were invited as lecturers to interact with 14 current students participating in the program. The lecturers for the day were Mr. Jose Rodriguez Neto of Canaan Georesearch Corporation, Mr. Ryu Kinyo of Daio Engineering Corporation, Ms. Michele Marie of Hikari Corporation, and Mr. Lim Jiu of Matsuyama Bark Corporation.
First, the graduates introduced themselves, the companies they work for, and talked about their current jobs and what they find rewarding, followed by a session in groups where they freely exchanged opinions.
Students who participated in the seminar commented, “It was very informative to interact with graduates working in Japan and hear about their experiences in job hunting and work,” and “I realized that the essence of job hunting is to accept the harsh reality that Japanese is a must in order to find a job at a Japanese company, and to make a wise decision based on the company’s recruitment information while assessing the priority of language skills and specialized skills. I realized that the essence of job hunting is to make a wise decision based on the company’s employment information, while accepting the harsh reality that Japanese is required to find a job at a Japanese company and determining the priority of language skills and specialized skills.
The International Student Employment Promotion Program Office will continue to actively promote global human resource development, career support, and promotion of foreign nationals to help realize a multicultural society.
