On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Crisis Management Seminar for Overseas Study and Language Training was held at the Collaboration House Hall. 131 students, faculty, and staff from Ehime University, Matsuyama University, Ehime University of Medical Technology, University of Human Environments, and St. Catherine’s University participated in the seminar, including those planning to travel overseas for study or training.
In this seminar, Mr. Akihiko Ueno of the Japan Council for Safety of Students Overseas (JCSOS), a non-profit organization, was invited as a lecturer, and participants learned how to conduct safe and secure study and training programs by referring to specific crisis examples in order to prevent unexpected situations (disasters, accidents, illness, etc.) while staying and studying overseas. The participants learned how to conduct safe and secure study abroad and training programs by referring to specific crisis cases.
Based on various data and information from the countries and regions that the participating students will actually travel to, Mr. Ueno explained “What precautions are necessary to avoid encountering crises,” “How to respond if you are involved in a crime,” and “Three principles for safety,” citing multiple examples of trouble, while asking questions of the students in the audience. He also explained about the three principles of safety, while asking questions to the students in the audience. During the Q&A session after the lecture, participants eagerly asked questions about how to deal with problems at the airport, what to watch out for when entering the dormitory, and so on.
Ehime University will continue to promote the development of a crisis management system to ensure the safe dispatch of students abroad.
