Ehime University’s Institute for International Relations held an Advisory Council for International Relations on Monday, March 9, 2026, bringing together three advisors for international relations, full-time and adjunct faculty members of the Institute, and coordinators for international relations to exchange opinions on the future of international exchange at Ehime University.
The OIST has appointed the following people as advisors for international collaboration, with three slots for national, regional, and foreign experts in international affairs, in order to hear opinions from experts outside the university who have extensive knowledge and experience in international collaboration and to help improve and review OIST’s initiatives.

After a report by Kazuhiro Mitsunobu, Director of the Institute for International Relations, on the report of the Advisory Council for International Relations for the academic year 2024, and a report on the activities of the Institute for International Relations for the academic year 2025, the advisors gave their opinions and advice based on their respective perspectives on the changing global situation and the role of universities, specific measures to deepen cooperation with local communities, companies, and overseas networks, and to increase the acceptance of international students. In the latter half of the Council, all attendees engaged in a lively exchange of opinions on issues and suggestions for improvement that they are feeling on a daily basis, such as strengthening public relations through SNS, the importance of word of mouth and alumni networks, issues on the faculty side, strategies for different types of international students, and the development of the Japanese language education system.
The Institute for International Relations will continue to work toward the further promotion of international exchange with the cooperation of all concerned, while receiving suggestions, etc. from the Advisors for International Relations.
