Rosalina Tamele , a UGAS student, won the poster award at a conference of the Japanese Society of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition held 3–5 September, 2019.
Her winning poster was titled, “Nitrogen dynamics in winter-wheat field in Ehime, southwestern Japan”, showing the details of the nitrogen cycle and budget.
She showed the nitrogen budget (inputs−outputs) in the winter-wheat field was negative, which means that organic nitrogen needs to be supplied to the field to maintain the level of nitrogen in the soil.
Rosalina’s research on soil nitrogen is highly rated.
